Subgroup Purpose: How to operationalize “donor milk” use case and “connecting patient data across silos” use case

Healthcare working group meeting last Friday (July 27, 2018)

  • Medical chain - emr system - relevant for connecting patient data across silos - Dave Ebbet spoke - pilot in the UK with potential for subgroup to engage in different components - put on back burner until more info from Dave
  • EMR subgroup exists for those interested
  • Anton and Ron from Mother’s milk application spoke about donor milk proof of concept
  • Creating a github spot for Angela’s code

Donor milk use case

  • What are the problems we are trying to solve?
    • Track supply and demand
    • Test and verify donors
    • Track origins and delivery
    • Traceability for NFP milkbanks
    • Make donation easier
    • National overview of supply chain
    • There is a robust informal market of breast milk, contamination an issue
    • Track quantities held at milkbanks nationwide
    • Entice people to donate, track donations
    • Track and validate temperature

Human Milk Bank of North America wants:

  • Audit trail
  • Instant information in an outbreak
  • Instant ability to identify and pull contamination product

Next -

  • How to engage with developers
  • Move discussions to Rocketchat so fabric people can add insight, add more channels and domains to reach outside small email group.
  • Timeline - have something built by the end of 2018.
