General Meeting Agenda for 2018-11-16
Resources:
Welcome and Opening Statements
Introductions
Silona - new VP of community architecture at Hyperledger joined the call
Natassa Theodouli (Hyperledger associated company) - Research associate at CERTH Greek entity working in the blockchain space - focus on data sharing and permission handling; interested in Healthcare, IoT, and global energy: https://www.certh.gr/root.en.aspx
HLHCWG Guest Speaker
Alex Zhovnuvaty, CTO of RideChain, and the creator of
Sawtooth Healthcare, a blockchain application built on Hyperledger Sawtooth, allowing clinics to keep history regarding patients health and claims on the blockchain, will present to membership to gauge interest in his solution.
Alex has a background in IT and startups particularly in the ride-sharing space
Use flow is for an individual with a “claim” to a healthcare provider, gets prescribes treatment (tests, medication, procedure), patient gets treatment, gets a follow up visit, and claim is followed until 'claim' is satisfied
Qualities of blockchain to be leveraged: Immutability, Transparency, and Finality
It can be expanded to a variety of use cases including insurance company claims, malpractice validation, physician reviews, data sharing between clinics, etc.
The project is currently in GitHub (see link above)
Currently only Alex and one junior developer is working on this
Team feedback:
This seems like a multitude of projects as each use case has different requirements and really is “Sawtooth for Healthcare”
How is data privacy protected through a private blockchain network would help prevent this
Silona recommends coordinating with the Indy privacy DID work to ensure they understand the use cases and can work towards to solution
Access control is also an issue for having data on the blockchain - (i.e. the patient is unconcious and can't give permission to access data)
TO DO: Rich to follow up on what is defined as a “sponsor” - the question is also if there is financial support for Labs
-
December 12-15, Basel, Switzerland
Silona and Marissa are planning to attend, and will be able to report back
Marissa will be moderating a panel on permissioned vs private blockchain
-
March 12-14, 2019, Osaka, Japan
Emphasis on life sciences, with topics of interest to include healthcare and medical technologies
2-Page Short Paper Submission (All Categories) deadline is November 30, 2018
Discussion: anyone planning or interested in attending?
Marissa will be attending Hyperledger Global Forum; Len may be attending, but currently unlikely
No current interest in IEEE LifeTech Conference
HLHCWG Subgroup Updates
Donor milk continues to work on donor milk use case and are looking for a pivot to look at leveraging pre-existing supply chain builds that are out there and connect with EMR systems to see if we can address a very specific issue that the milk bank has.
Continuing to work on decision framework for leveraging blockchain for healthcare use cases
Old Business
Now officially moved over to newly-redesigned wiki home page
Still making minor tweaks to the design
Continued plan is to migrate over to the Confluence wiki when that site has stabilized

Currently in final external edit (thank you Marissa and Adrian)
Expected external edit to be completed EOD 11/23
Final step will be to open up to HLHCWG membership for review
